About This Journal
Ocean and Polar Research (ISSN: 2234-7313) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) since 1979. Covering the full breadth of marine sciences, it was the first Korean journal in the field to be indexed by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) in 2002, a status it continues to hold. The journal is also indexed in major international databases, including Elsevier’s Scopus, establishing its global visibility and reputation in marine science.
Manuscripts may be submitted in either Korean or English. English manuscripts are welcomed, particularly in fields such as fisheries, marine engineering, marine policy, marine resources, and polar research, or when submitted as part of special issues (e.g., symposia, workshops, or commemorative issues).
The journal publishes Articles, Reviews, Notes, and Data Papers. All accepted manuscripts are published online immediately after peer review and editorial processing.
